Privacy extensions vs browser fingerprinting
uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, and built-in shields block trackers — but they rarely spoof canvas, WebGL, or audio the way Tor Browser or Resist Fingerprinting does.

Three layers
Network blocking — filter lists stop tracker scripts; may lower probe richness.
Fingerprint hardening — rare via extensions; browser flags (RFP) work better.
Cookie isolation — container extensions; not the same as uBlock.
Typical effects in our analysis
- Fewer third-party scripts succeed
- Canvas/WebGL often unchanged without RFP/Tor
- GPC only if the browser sends Sec-GPC

- Analyze before/after install — check Overview protections.
- We do not detect named extensions.

uBlock or VPN?
Different layers — both can help; see VPN guide.
Extensions vs LibreWolf?
Hardened fork bundles defaults; extensions alone are often insufficient.
